Can early Alzheimers symptoms include Parkinson’s like tremors?

Current medical symptoms for past 6-9 months – Age 50/Male
1. Parkinson’s like tremors in hands and arms and progressively becoming worse as time continues.
2. Losing cognitive ability and memory and these are getting progressively worse as well. I frequently lose track of work or a though right in the middle of it and I have to stop and think for nearly a half a minute to get back on track.
3. Lethargic and lacking in motivation. Kind of depressed, nothing unmanageable.

Over 1 1/2 year ago I had severe tremors occuring in hands, arms and face and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. The neurologist pronounced his diagnosis when I had taken Mirapex for a week and the tremors had vanished in arms and face, and were nearly gone in my hands.

I’m still taking the same amount of Mirapex but now the original symptoms have returned along with the memory and cognitive loss symptoms as well.

Could I have Alzheimers rather than Parkinson’s? I need help.

Your experience is actually normal and expected with Parkinson’s disease patients. As the disease progresses, the medications become less effective. However, your doctor can change your medications, and you might have some improvement again. Exercise, diet, sleep, mental and social stimulation could also help.

I suggest that you see a neurologist that specializes in movement disorders. They are experts in Parkinson’s and Alzheimers — both movement disorders. Futhermore, people are often diagnosed with Parkinson’s, when it is actually a closer cousing to Parkinson, often called Parkinsonisims.

If this is elementary, please excuse me. I just believe in the specialized skills and focuse practice of movement disorders specialists. They are often very succesful at addressing many of the things that you describe. Depressed, lethargic, losing cognitive ability, and losing executive function are quite common. Getting some of this back is also a possibility. I wish you very well. It is quite the battle.

Yes, my grandfather has alzheimers and we have been dealing with this since 1996. He too had tremors that started out light and over the years has gotten worse.

you could fight the problem, whatever name it’s going by.
it may sound wacky but my suggestion is to take up smoking.
alternatively, buy some edible Brewers Yeast.
your body urgently needs Vitamin B.
ever heard of nicotine? it is closely related to Vitamin B3
also know as niacin or niacinamide, and one of the main reasons why people become addicted.
use roll your own tobacco, because those ready-rolled ones will kill you.
there may be unpleasantness resulting from smoking but your thinking will be wonderfully clear most of the time.
