Does anybody who actually saw the (legendary) Parkinson interview with Meg Ryan think that he was to blame?

In my opinion he came across as rude and and would not have got away with his manner with any other star
suffers from Parkinson's disease, then this is going to be one of the most important things you'll ever read.

Sorry I don’t agree. I think Parky was his usual self. He only got a bit aggressive with his questioning when he was getting nowhere with her
That was ages ago though, oh well.
no, he wasn’t rude at all, i watched the whole thing, and she was completely non cooperative, non communicative, and seem to have had no actual interest in being there. And i have never ever seen Michael Parkinson angry on any of his shows, even when he got tipped upside down by Emu and baited by Muhammed Ali.
i have just read his autobiography and he goes on to explain that episode, makes very interesting reading. It’s an excellent book, and one should read if you think he was anything other than a professional in all his interviews. Don’t watch the youtube interview it doesn’t give the true picture
I don’t know. I haven’t seen it.
No.
He was less sycophantic than he usually is, but I wouldn’t say he was rude.
no he was not rude, i saw the interveiw a long time a go and you could
see he was having a hard time interviewing her , i would have hated to be in his shoes doing that one as he is such a lovely guy
and she was being a real pain
Yeah. He was rude. I just watched it on you tube to refresh my memory. He could see she was uncomfortable, and all he did was bring attention to it, and ask her difficult questions which made her more uncomfortable. He’s an interviewer and should have the skills to deal with difficult guests like her, and yes she was difficult at the start, I think she kinda freaked out, but she did try to redeem it, and he just started getting rude, not deliberately but I think he took her awkwardness as a personal rejection rather than it reflecting her own insecurities with been put on the spot
