Its an inherited disease, and the symptoms are like Parkinson’s disease. Could dystonia, after a few complications, actually lead to Parkinson’s?

First of all, Parkinson’s does not kill so I would guess it is very unlikely that dystonia can kill. A person can die from complications associated with these diseases such as choking, but anyone can die of choking just as anyone can go outside tomorrow and get hit by a car.

Though I cannot answer if dystonia can lead to PD, similar but if you read this link below, you will find a little info on the difference between the two. PD is not always an inherited disease, but there are people with a mother, or father, or brother, sister who have had it and they have it, but many who have siblings with PD or PD like diseases never get it. A GOOD neurologist would be able to better assist in determining what is taking place and treatment.
Here is the link, hope this will help you some! Hugs
