Yes.

"Three-time world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, known for his lyrical charm and boasts as much as for his powerful fists, has moved far beyond the boxing ring in both influence and purpose. Ali won an Olympic gold medal in 1960 and later tossed it into a river because he was disgusted by racism in America. As a young man he was recruited by Malcolm X to join the Nation of Islam. He refused to serve in Vietnam–a professional fighter willing to serve time in jail for his pacifist ideals. He has contributed to countless, diverse charities and causes. And his later years have found him interested in world politics as he has battled to keep Parkinson’s disease at bay." –Contemporary Black Biography. Vol. 52. Thomson Gale, 2006.

Michael J. Fox

michael j. fox has that, but i dunno if muhammad ali does. my grandma had that,& it was awful!!!!

JAM123 // December 8th, 2009 - 7:38 pm

Yes he does so as Michael J.Fox also Richard Pryor.!!!

kaz! // December 8th, 2009 - 7:38 pm

Yes, he does. As does Michael j fox. It’s a deteriorating illness, that you cannot avoid, it is also hereditary. So I think people who have 5 kids when they know theve got it like Michae J Fox are very selfish to burdon another child with it, when they have known only too well years before hand, that they had it. It is always hereditory.

From what I understand, yes, Muhammad Ali does have Parkinson’s. Again from what I understand it was brought on from a career of boxing (too many thumps to the skull). He is also considered as being what is called "punch drunk", again this is what can happen when a person spends his life-time in the ring as a prize fighter. Incidentally, there are only three other boxers who can stand in the same room with him; they are Sugar Ray Leonard, Sonny Liston and George Foreman. These guys are artists in the ring. Oh, a moment of kudos for Muhmmad’s daughter, she is fast becoming a very close second to her father in the squared circle.
In Hollywierd it would be Michael J. Fox, there are several others in other professions too but I can not remember their names right now.

sad to say yes

pte:D42 // December 8th, 2009 - 7:38 pm

its not realy clear if ali actualy has parkinsons due to the fact that he has suffered brain traumer as a result of his boxing career. ali won almost all of his fights thanks to his savi and hard head. he was hit in the head by the srongest fittest men on earth lots of times during fights over 25 years! if thats what causes parkinsons then theres no doupt but what actualy causes parkinsons or even what it is is a mistery.

mj1112 // December 8th, 2009 - 7:38 pm

yes he does

CLIVE H // December 8th, 2009 - 7:38 pm

OIympic Champion and World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Muhammad Ali probably does have Parkinson’s Disease. It may also be something caused by being punched in the head too many times in the last year or so of his professional boxing career.

You can clearly see in the above video clip the effects of the Parkinson’s Disease – the shaking etc.

Bilbo // December 8th, 2009 - 7:38 pm

He does have Parkinson’s.
Lots of other people have mentioned famnous names
(Richard Pryor is now no more btw).
I don’t thik there is any evidence that PD is caused by blows to the head – it is a deficiency of the chemical dopamine and is probably genetic in origin.
