My Grandmother has had this for 22 years. I just wondered if anyone knows if you can live as much as 30 years or more with this disease? Thanks very much in advance for any genuine replies.

My father was diagnosed in April 92.He was told that his life would deteriorate as fast or slow as he wanted it to.Apart from the obvious effects it was also said that it had to do with his state of mind and whether he was prepared to stay active or not.He has grandchildren that run him ragged and he still coaches a kids football team.He does have quite severe shaking on his left side and has his off times of day when hes not too quick on his feet. His specialist seems to think that he will live longer this way though.Sufferers often have the condition for 40+ years so don’t worry too much about your nan.Just keep her involved and don’t treat her like an invalid.
I hope this helps.
It can be possible, especially if you are young or your health is good. Like michael j. fox. my dad had it and he lived with it from 1990 to 2000 but he was in his 70s when he died.
It can be a long life. Depends on how severe it is and gets. You can help slow down Parkinson’s even more (up to 40%) with 1200mgs or more of CoQ-10 per day. That can be found in places like Vitamin World (a little expensive).
my grandpa is 93 thank god and has parkinsons for over 10 years and he is still going strong, the disease dosn’t afect your phisical health so there is no amount of time u have to live so don’t be worried for your grandma she can still live a good long life with Parkinson’s disease.
I used to know a lady who had been diagnosed with parkinsons in the 1960s. She is still going strong as far as I know. The internet has many stories of people who have lived with parkinsons for 40 + years. It really is true that where there’s life, there’s hope.
All the best
My dad has it. He’s had it for about eighteen years, and he’s 81-years-old. Horrible disease though;he can barely move around, even with a walker, and he falls constantly,Just today he fell and ripped his big toe-nail nearly off.Poor Dad.I wouldn’t wish Parkinson’s on my worst enemy.
There is a good chapter on this condtion in Prescription for Natural Cures by Balch & Stengler.
I have heard of Parkinson patients who felt much better subjectively while they were taking monavie juice.
Please see the webpages for more details and images on Parkingsons disease.
It would be incredibly difficult to say how long a person with Parkinson’s disease might live for. It’s different for different people. With some it progresses rapidly, and with others it reaches a plateau for a while before it progresses again.
I worked with people suffering Parkinson’s disease for over 10 years, and when I was forced to retire on grounds of ill-health, there were still residents in the home that had been there for almost as long as I had.
I pray that your Grandmother lives for as long, and in as much comfort, as possible.
