I am studying at the moment about Parkinson’s disease. One of the symptoms of the condition is that there is diminished movement, so why is one of the treatment for it is to block acetycholine release from striatal cholinergic neurons when this neurotransmitter has exhibitory propeties and Parkinson’s disease symptoms has diminished movement?
