I was diagnosed 6.5 years ago when I was 36 and I exercise regularly. I can tell you some things from my experience for what it is worth. The big one is balance. There are exercises that can help with balance, but the main thing is to be sure they are safe no matter what the exercise is. Muscle tightness is another one. There are times I have had to cut my exercise short because of it. I am at a point where if I time my medications to be active when I am exercising, this becomes a non-issue. One thing I have found for me is that weights seem to be better than cardio when I am stiff. The weights help me loosen up. Not everybody is the same, but that is something to test and see if it works if necessary.

There can be other things depending on how the PD affects the person. PD affects everybody differently so you would need to know what the individuals major issues are and plan accordingly.

I would be watching for balance and grace. If they fall or stumble or move stiff /jerky watch them carefully. Still it is better to do some type of active then nothing.
