Who else thinks the comments made by parkinson about jade goody were horrible ?
i liked jade goody very much and followed her through her career , and did like parkinson but have gone right off him after what he said about jade goody , how could he be so heartless ? , i think he is a very arrogant smug old man who thinks very highly of himself now does anybody else ?

It’s terrible that she suffered and died but I still don’t have to like her.
I did agree with what he was trying to say - but he did go about it the wrong way - Jade didn’t bother me really, but I do think the fact she became a National Icon to Diana status for getting cancer and dying was a bit overboard - Yes she did raise awareness for cervical cancer, but only because she had it, and she didn’t actively campaign either, the media did it on her behalf, she didn’t campaign for anything else like throughout her life.
I’ve lost 15 members of my family to cancer - and the whole situation did get my back up a little, I mean, they weren’t given the opportunity to raise millions to support their family, they didn’t even get a mention in the paper, apart from the obituaries that we had to pay for!
No not at all, i think he is brave for having the balls to say what everyone else is thinking.
I never really had anything against Jade but it always annoyed me how when she had that big brother racism thing going on, the media said she was an evil witch and should just disappear and practically ruined her career overnight, then BOOM! shes gets cancer and the papers are all like ’she was such a wonderful girl, she doesn’t deserve this’ then she dies and they run tribute issues with the headline ‘essex princess’ its all a load of rubbish, they hated her til she got cancer!!
Its just like princess Diana, a week before her death the media were slagging her off for being with Dodi al Fayed, and calling her a bad mother, then she dies and its all ‘Our poor diana, the queen of hearts’. Its so bloody hypocritical, so fair play to Parky!

Don’t get me wrong, I have sympathy for anyone passing away in those circumstances, more so when young kids are left without a mother.
Nevertheless, what he said had to be said.

I’m sorry Jade died but I’m also sick to death of all the hype it was not so long ago that the newspapers were slating her the sun even compared her to a pig if everyone got off the politically correct bandwagon and said what they really thought things would be a lot different she was a poorly educated racial bigot who stretched her 15 minut’s of fame for all it was worth.
Comments were right ,but just bad timing,should have waited till all those false pretend mourners ,who didnt even know her,got real

I agree with you Kate, they were horrible, seems to me he picked on someone who couldn’t answer back just to help his ailing career - he is an arrogant smug old man who probably has never had anything tragic in his life and let’s face it he had an easy ride in television simply by sitting on his backside and letting others do the talking - I never liked him much and now I really dislike him

I agree with you. I never did like Parky much anyway, couldn’t bear to watch his chat show & the way he fawned all over his guests.
The thing was a lot of people felt Jade was ‘one of them’ at least people could relate to her, after recently reading her autobiograpy I really admire how she tried to make something better of her life. Actually I don’t think she’d be too bothered about what arrogant Parky has to say.
No he was right. He was only saying what the majority think. It’s sad she died so young and sad she suffered but she wasn’t exactly a saint was she? I don’t remember her having so many fans before she got ill. And before someone goes off on one - it was fabulous the support the country showed her but I bet at least half of them were the ones calling her and hating her before she was ill.

I was not a fan of Jade Goody but I did feel sorry for her when I heard that she was dying of cancer. I think Michael Parkinson was right in everything he said about Jade, the problem is he said it at the wrong time. The girl had not been buried long and it was tactless of him to make such a comment about her so soon after the funeral. The media will make him pay for his remarks though.
Oh by the way I am not a parky fan either, I used to like him when he first started out, then he just got too big headed for me. He certainly did not deserve the knighthood he got. He was supposed to have retired from television but he is on our screens advertising life insurance now, what a come down for a Knight!
